| 説明 | Avenue Daumesnil, Paris. A similar "shared" (between cars, peds, and trees) access road treatment (Blvd. Beaumarchais) was described in Jacobs/Macdonald/Rofé's "Boulevard Book" as such: "Along each side a sidewalk, one moving lane, one parking lane, and a row of trees are all contained within a space of approximately 32 feet. The narrow 6' sidewalk is at the same level as everything else, separated from the moving lane by 18-inch-high concrete bollards... Because of the narrow sidewalks, pedestrians regularly flow into the access road's vehicular lane, even mothers with small children. The design seems to invite this behavior, with the single level implying a shared pedestrian and vehicle realm... In places, the considerable presence of vehicles in a relatively narrow space makes the pedestrian realm feel a bit like a linear parking lot... [T]his street is a creative way of achieving multiple uses in a narrow pedestrian realm within the basic multiway boulevard form."There is a bike lane in the through-traffic lanes of the boulevard (at left). |
