| 説明 | Please notice the powerful words from Christ Jesus himself, where he said in his famous, Sermon on the Mount, in chapter 7 of Matthew, if you look at verses 13 & 14; instead of supporting the idea that there are many acceptable ways to approach God, the Bible teaches that there is only one.Matthew 7:13, 14 says: “Go in through the narrow gate, because broad is the gate and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are going in through it; whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are finding it.”Jesus taught here that everyone is on one of these two roads, and most of mankind is traveling along the broad road that leads to destruction. Some people on the broad road have made a deliberate choice to reject what the Bible teaches, but many others are there because they have been deceived, or kept in the dark, as to what Gods Word the bible really requires of them. It is up to us individually to accept the privilege of going over onto the narrow road and drawing closer to God, as from James 4:8.Another important point to notice is, the very fact that there are two roads proves we have a choice, and our lives are not just ruled by destiny or some clock waiting to end our life.One road is broad, in other words travelers are permitted to do their own thing, do anything they want, with no rules, no commitments, just a relaxed life style. This is the same thing many relaxed churches offer the public today, just make sure you add to the collection basket, and they guarantee you will be saved. Really? The world has degraded so much today most people do not even realize they are sinning horribly against God, and most churches today just let the badness go for fear of losing membership.But the other narrow road is cramped, and those on that road must adhere to God’s direction. The narrow road calls for self-control and discipline. Yes, the narrow road has restrictions, and the majority of people does not want all those restrictions. A restriction can be likened to a seat belt in your car; yes, it is restrictive, but it is really for our own good. In my past I was an emergency medical technician and I have brought the ambulance out to many vehicle accidents, and that is the reason I do use my seat belt. Just keeping a person in the vehicle and not letting the driver fly out, with the car rolling on them, is worth wearing the seat belt. Yes, even when something seems restrictive, it is usually designed to save your life, and that is also what the restrictions on the narrow road to life are for. The restrictions of the narrow road are basically just a matter of adhering to God’s direction.
