| 説明 | Pendants are dissolutional features in caves. They consist of irregularly-shaped projections of rock from ceilings or cave walls. Pendants form by differential dissolution of limestone bedrock during speleogenesis. These examples are in Diamond Caverns in Kentucky. The cave is developed in the Ste. Genevieve Limestone (upper Meramecian Series, upper Middle Mississippian), which consists of a succession of limestones and minor dolostone.Locality: Diamond Caverns, ~1.7 air-miles north-northwest of the town of Park City, northwestern Barren County, west-central Kentucky, USA |
