| 説明 | The Monypeny premises makes me want to make a bad Bond joke. But there's just too much other stuff to capture the attention in this otherwise relatively rare visit to the Clarke collection. While the canopy of the Gaiety and the RCSI Mercer Library building are unmistakable, it's the helmetted DMP member, and the lady with the birdcage that really draw us in. Where was she off to?swordscookie suggests she may have been coming from the Dublin bird market (which was on Canon Street - a 10 minute walk back-along South King St towards Golden Lane and St Patrick's Cathedral). The businesses around and about also add context to this intruiging central pairing - with guliolopez pointing-out that Monypeny Corner is mentioned in Joyce's Ullyses - along with half the city :) And Carol Maddock reminding us that we've visited some of the businesses in/around this shot before....Photographers: J.
