| 説明 | Ah, talking of local commerce, here is a local lady who surprised us by her sudden appearance from behind one of the large boats. She is selling water, snacks and other food items. Of course, with most of the cruise boats being restaurants as well, much of what the tourists would need in terms of food were available on board anyway, so no one needed to buy anything from her- they would have probably got ripped off anyway. Still, it was a sad sight to see her paddle by uselessly with a boat load of stuff with no one buying. Access would have been another big problem, with us being nearly two storeys high on our large cruise boat. (Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, Nov. 2016) |
