| 説明 | After carving the apple expertly to the shape of a dragon tail, our friend the chef then gets to work on a cucumber to carve out this flower. Here is the fruit of his labour (pardon the pun!) displayed on the plate after the demo. The Malaysian tourists across the hall were recording all this on their smartphones all the time. Although the apple has rigid flesh throughout, I was surprised the chef even managed to carve a cucumber, which has a much softer and a rather mushy core. (Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, Nov. 2016) |
