| 説明 | A photographer’s dilemma: What happens when you have a small window of opportunity to visit a sacred or iconic place but it turns out to be one of those days when the weather conspires to mute all colour and everything appears as a shade of gray. This is what happened to me in Hong Kong. Not raining but the landscape painted in monotones. The Tian Tan Buddha was impressive but I struggled to capture this in camera with all the competing grey tones. That was until I sat down afterwards and started fiddling in the editing suite. Tight crops, false colour, deep shadows and suddenly the Buddha looks imposing. So not as I experienced the occasion, nor an accurate travel record but the fixed image is now a closer representation of the artifact and place. Cheating? |
