| 説明 | This window in the North Aisle particularly caught my attention. It is symbolic of the Death and Resurrection of Christ and is signed A N Yoxall, E Whitford 1968. Nora Yoxall (1892-1998) and Elsie Whitford (1897-1992) were graduates of Bournville College of Art. They worked together for the rest of their lives, always making their windows as well as designing them. From 1949 they worked from a small studio in Blockley, near Chipping Campden. Their output was not large, and was mostly in the Midlands.The window is in memory of Walter and Dorothy Dowse and their son Michael. There is no explanation as to why the burning and rebuilding of Coventry Cathedral is commemorated here. |
