| 説明 | The photograph does not convey the height of this signal box.....more like a water tower from the ground. It is apparently the last suviving signal box on the former Manchester,Sheffield and Lincolnshire railway. In the background can be seen some relics from the former lime burning operation of H. Parry and Sons on the site. The location is west of Hibaldstow, and quite close to the deserted medaeval village of Gainsthorpe. Behind the camera is an extensive area of worked out pits,now flooded. |
