| 説明 | This bank of folding stools was one of many at the Art Institute of Chicago. They had a specific warning that they were for staff use only. I saw probably five storage banks of them, with around 30 fallow stools each. They're intended for use w/ school groups, who get lectured for 5 min per work of art for three hours or so. Just the prior day, I watched a nice old lady carry around her own camp stool at the Science and Industry museum so she could take a load off while reading exhibits. There appears to be a need here.There are benches in the art galleries, but they're only next to the piece the bench is next to, which is probably not always the one you want to be in front of. Plus, they're too far from even those paintings to read the write-ups. The alternative the museums provide for mobility aids is a wheel chair. See next picture for commentary on that. |
