| 説明 | Of all the European capitals, Dublin is the most intimate and easiest to explore. Stroll through the cobblestone streets past St. Stephen's Green, Phoenix Park and Merrion Square. Pubs abound, adding to the city's convivial charm. Many magnificent structures such as Trinity College take you back in time to the Dublin immortalized in literature by Yeats, Joyce and others. Ireland is actually two countries in one, the northeast corner of the island, Northern Ireland, remains a part of the United Kingdom, while the Republic has been independent since 1921. Situated on the banks of the River Liffey, Dublin's history dates back some 1,500 years; you can still see sections of its first wall, left by Gaelic settlers, dating more than 1,000 years ago. Invasions by everyone from Norsemen to Oliver Cromwell, as well as a flux of emigration, have left this city fiercely independent as well as remarkably diverse.
