| 説明 | New Westminster was selected as the first capital of the Colony of British Columbia by Queen Victoria in 1859. In 1866, the city of Victoria replaced New Westminster as capital city when the Colony of Vancouver Island merged with the Colony of B.C. Today, New Westminster is a suburb city of Vancouver. Sapperton is a neighbourhood in New Westminster. Originally, Sapperton was built to house decommissioned Royal Engineers (also known as Sappers) where it's name was derived from. |
