| 説明 | From the Poole collection comes this image of a small parish church with an unusual belfry/gateway to the premises. I wonder is that particular feature still standing, given the growth of motorised traffic in the intervening 111 years?Rising to our challenge, derangedlemur promptly identified this as the Church of the Assumption in Templeorum, County Killkenny (close to the oft-visited Piltown). Our intrepid investigator highlights the NIAH entry on the church itself which tells us that it dates to the early 19th century, but was renovated in the early 20th century. We're delighted to learn that the mid-19th century gateway still stands....Photographer: A. H.
