| 説明 | The boats in which we crossed the Liman. Our first morning at the orphanage, we had breakfast and were told, to our surprise: "Five minutes until we're headed to the beach!" We gathered our things, super-quick, and went down to the jetty to meet these boats, which would take us across the Liman to the beach itself. The Liman is a kind of coastal lake, part of the Dniester estuary, semi-enclosed between the mainland and the Black Sea shore. And these boats were old and smoky, I think they'd done this shuttle run many many times before :) Note: Kate took this picture...great shot Kate. |
