| 説明 | For centuries, we have been tracking comets and asteroids in the sky. Today, we are sending space ships to intercept and study them. This image comes from a book compiled "By vigilant and diligent observations of Iohn Bainbridge Doctor of Physicke, and louer of the mathematics" in 1618, as reprinted in 1811. You can download it for free on our Digital Archive (tpl.ca/digital-archive). Bainbridge was a British astronomer who published this book about the great comet of 1618. The comet was also known as “the Angry Star” due to its reddish tone and exceptionally long tail.
