説明 | PAULINA, Ore. – Conservation planners with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, along with partners from the Harney, Malheur, Lake and Crook Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs) gathered in Central Oregon Sept. 20 to earn their level 1 certification for Working Lands for Wildlife. The workshop included classroom education and field demonstrations to help planners assess rangeland health and determine the appropriate conservation activities to improve sage grouse habitat. Sage grouse habitat conservation activities include conifer removal, annual grass treatments, fence flagging, and installing wildlife escape ramps on livestock watering systems.
