| 説明 | Day 3 and no fog so we hopped on the number 2 bus from Shanklin to Newport, then got the number 7 bus to The Needles. The bus stops at what looks like a seriously tacky tourist trap area (glass blowing, sweet shops etc) and there's a view point where you can see the Needles in the distance (no doubt preferably using the provided 50p a go binoculars...)Our plan was to walk up to the Needles Battery then walk onwards as near to Shanklin as we could get in a day then hop on a bus back. But for some people, even walking towards the Needles was obviously too much. Not far away, a National Trust sign had to proclaim it was only "¾ an hour round trip" to get to the Needles. If you have to put that on your sign in the first place... |
