| 説明 | The City of Inverness has the Beauly Firth (formertly called Loch Beauly, as it is a sea-loch, being inlet of the Moray Firth) as its northern border, and the area between the mouth of the River Ness and the entrance to the Caledonian Canal is a beautiful area, as can clearly be seen here! Midway between the two inlets is the former Kessock Ferry slipway - the ferry service across to the "Black Isle" (actually a peninsula) closed in 1982 when the Kessock Bridge opened to carry road traffic over the firth. These photographs show the shoreline frontage of South Kessock, a peaceful spot now there is no longer any ferry traffic.Last Sunday was a particularly gorgeous sunny day, and showed the area off to its best. All this lovely scenery, and right in the City limits too. |
