| 説明 | The white very small flowers are only seen from April-Oct. Most walk right by them! This plant starts off with roots, and then loses that system to be a complete parasite on plants in the salt marsh. If you took your fingernail and pull on the "Witch's Hair" you will expose the part that makes this a complete parasite called Haustoria (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haustoria), which go down into the plant to suck out the juices to prey on Pickleweed, Alkali Heath, Jaumea, and other plants in the saltmarsh. |
