| 説明 | In Hollywood Cemetery (Richmond Virginia), a large bronze circular tablet near the north central gate was erected to the memory of the Confederate flags. On the bronze tablet are three flags. The flag on the left is the "Stars and Bars", the first Confederate National Flag and a military flag as well.The flag in the center is the Virginia Flag. The motto "Sic Semper Tyrannis" is often cited as the words John Wilkes Booth uttered as he shot Abraham Lincoln.The flag on the right is the "Stainless Banner", the Second Confederate Flag.The words inscribed are "Fate Denied Them Victory But Gave Them Glorious Immortality" and "Furled But Not Forgotten".source: files.usgwarchives.org/va/richmondcity/cemeteries/hollywo... |
