| 説明 | The open hopper being filled with sand has the reporting mark "RRMX 1033." Click here to see a photo of this open hopper taken by Craig Walker on May 12, 2007. (It looked a lot nicer then. If it didn't have a number, you wouldn't even know it was the same car.)This photo was taken at the Robertson's Ready Mix Sand and Gravel Processing Plant in Banning, California. Sand and gravel are excavated, screened, and washed for use in construction materials. The plant operates 286 days per year, or 5.5 days per week 52 weeks per year, depending upon market demand and the product being produced. The San Andreas Fault zone runs through the site. The pit mine is about 80 feet deep and the water table is 150 feet below that (total 240 feet below ground). The San Gorgonio River channel runs through the north side of the plant property. (Source)The Robertson's Ready Mix Rolling Stock Range Listing says that Robertson's Ready Mix owns the open hoppers in the range RRMX 1000 through RRMX 1099.The AAR (Association of American Railroads) says the RRMX reporting mark belongs to RRM Properties Limited.Update: RRM Properties is owned and operated by Robertson's Ready Mix Sand and Gravel.20080924_0069a1_600x800 |
