Akihiko Morita aboard Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Chief (MCM 14) during Mine Countermeasure Exercise (MCMEX) 2JA 2018. MCMEX 2JA 2018 is an annual bilateral exercise held between the U.S. Navy, Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) and this year the Indian Navy to strengthen interoperability and increase proficiencies in mine countermeasure operations.
