| 説明 | A closer look at the Indian Pond Heron or Paddy Bird perched on a pier on the Kerala Backwaters. He appeared quite comfortable with all these humans around him and was not bothered by the noise of our boat's engine. No way you could photograph something like this from an enclosed houseboat! The Indian Pond Heron or Paddy Bird can be seen singly or as disjointed individuals at streams, tanks and puddles. The food of the Pond Heron consists mainly of frogs, fish, crabs and insects. Outside of Kerala, the Indian Pond Heron or Paddy Bird can also be seen all over India as well as in Burma, Thailand, Malaysia and to the .West to the Persian Gulf . A slightly different variant of the bird occurs in the Maldive Islands .(Alleppey/ Alapuzha, Kerala, India, Apr. 2016) |
