Using our National Trust membership we stopped at Levant Mine and Beam Engine.This mine used to mine tin and is now only the Beam Engine operates, which was fascinating to see, as was the old parts of the mine.We are very grateful to the kind staff who gave our children ice creams when my daughter cut herself on some rocks (they were having a go at breaking rocks with the hammers and goggles provided). The children loved the ice creams, although my poor son ended up wearing his in his hair when the wind whipped up and sent him and his ice cream on a bit of a journey! |
