| 説明 | Looking NNE from just above 600-foot lock at McAlpine Locks.Barge with sheet piling and cofferdam cell template..The template, consisting of two connected rings, is used as a form for the construction of the cylindrical cells which make up the cofferdam. If necessary, the riverbed is prepared to provide a level surface, then the template is lowered into place and secured.Interlocking sheetpiles are driven into the riverbed around the template, thus forming a cylindrical "cell".After the template is removed, the cell is filled with sand, possibly after placing a tremie concrete seal at the bottom.."Cindy Brent" approaching 1200-foot lock with anhydrous ammonia barge..Ohio River mile 607.
