| 説明 | Interior of NSWR 'S' Stock' 'Daylight' Buffet Car No.RS 1962 at Trainworks, the New South Wales Railway Museum, Thirlmere, 31 March 2016. Designed by Harold Young, the air conditioned 'S' Stock, was inspired by the U.S. Southern Pacific Railroad's 'Daylight Express' streamlined stock although the 'S's' were based more on Victorian Railway's buffet car of 1938-39. 8 RS's were built in 1949-52 by Comeng and 1 by NSWR Eveleigh in 1965 (No.RS 1962). No.RS 1962 was used on the 'Intercapital Daylight', 'North Coast Daylight' and 'South Coast Daylight' and 'Brisbane Express' until 1990, then on Canberra and Grafton trains until withdrawal. |
