| 説明 | The trail right here needs to follow a sheer granite rock face to the waterfall, so they cut the trail into into it, creating a ledge using dynamite. This trail was built long ago, around 1920 or something. Every spring, sheets of water flow down the rock face and cascade down onto the ledge, creating a shower that pours down upon hikers, who are burning up from doing all the uphill hiking. It is a sight for sore eyes, that water! However, large hunks of snow occasionally come sliding down that rock and would smash anyone hiking the ledge. There is also a dangerous stream ford where if you slip and fall on the downhill side, you will travel 2,000 feet down. Everyone ignores the "trail closed" sign and crosses under the metal chain. |
