This could have been a big failure and may have put Lockheed out of business. However, Lockheed bribed many officials to get orders for this fighter and in the end, even though it wasn't very good at anything, except straight line speed, over a thousand were sold around the world.The plane was lethal to its pilots, in accidents the German airforce lost 270 aircraft and 110 pilots killed.Another example of USA corruption. |
