| 説明 | We were wandering back to the hotel in order to get our bus back to the airport, but we had loads of time so were wandering slowly and taking detours, only to find ourselves in front of these quite frankly odd statues – very angular features.At the time I thought tinghuset was the town hall (based on the fact that in Iceland, Þingvellir was the old parliament assembly area and the way you pronounce Þing is pretty much "thing", and of course Norway and Iceland have historical connections and so on) but actually it's the city courthouse. Such a happy location is also, apparently, where many newlyweds come to get photographs taken. I'm trying to imagine a bride and groom outside the Old Bailey, but struggling spectacularly...Taken on the last day (day 11) of our fjord based holiday in Norway. |
