| 説明 | Again in the alleyways of the Bryggen. Note the floor-boarded walkway. 58 of the buildings in the Bryggen were added to Unesco's World Heritage list in 1979, but the Bryggen wasn't always as appreciated. In the early 20th century after fire damage swept through the area, locals led a campaign to have the area demolished and modernised. Thankfully it never happened – something we should remember when viewing 1960s monstrosities with an eye to demolition. One days eyesore is often the next years heritage site.Taken on the last day (day 11) of our fjord based holiday in Norway. |
