| 説明 | Yesterday was my last full day in America. It began in Brooklyn, where Peter had taken us so that he could visit his grandmother; while I rested in a pizza parlor, sipping a ginger ale and reading the Scarlet Letter - I bought a 6.95 special pizza, by the way, which Peter and I both enjoyed in the car. Later, we briefly partook in the festivities of a verily authentic Italian cafe, which Peter so desired to show me and in which elderly men had gathered to watch football (Juventus versus Manchester United), to smoke and to kick up the banter typical of these sagacious, cultural folk. In the evening, Mark and I met at Starbucks, to play chess and to test, once more, our respective price sensitives against an armada of niched coffees. I drank the lemonade. |
