| 説明 | These 2 black and yellow beetles were enjoying the big daisies on the allotments (TM176447) yesterday (14/06/2016). They are both Rutpela maculata Spotted Longhorn beetles. The markings on these beetles are quite variable and in the case of these two you can see that they are not identical. However, both have antennae with the basal third of each segment yellow and the rest black, which is a characteristic of this species. ID confirmed by Wil Heeney. The larvae live in rotten wood and the adults visit flowers where they eat pollen and sip nectar. |
