説明 | Half way along at Berekvam we pulled up and waited a few minutes. The reason was that the Flåmsbana is single tracked, with a passing loop installed in the middle so that the two engines which take passengers along the line can pass comfortably. The passing loop is wonderfully low-tech. Signals are done by a man walking along the track and inserting a green flag in a wooden box which I think was supposed to tell the train which was passing us, that it could proceed – presumably because the points were in that trains favour. The points were (of course) also set manually.Taken on day 8 of our fjord based holiday in Norway. |
