Louis XIV extended and decorated it with the impressive and celebrated group in gilded lead representing Apollo on his chariot. The work of Jean-Baptiste Tuby, from a drawing by Charles Le Brun - the Apollo Fountain - is inspired by the legend of Apollo, god of the Sun and emblem of the King. |
