| 説明 | The U.S. Army Research Laboratory and the University of Southern California opened a new collaborative research facility yesterday at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies facility in Playa Vista, California. ARL West is an effort to co-locate Army research and development personnel on the West Coast in order to gain access to subject matter experts, technical centers and universities not well represented on the East Coast.Before the ribbon cutting, officials conducted guided tours of the USC ICT facility, which is expected to be the laboratory’s largest university research outpost. Guest speakers for the event were Maj. Gen. John F. Wharton, commanding general of the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, Dr. Thomas P. Russell, ARL director, and C.L. Max Nikias, USC President.As part of ARL's open campus initiative, the laboratory collaborates with national and international academia, industry, small business and other government partners in forward-reaching research in areas of strategic importance to the Army. |
