| 説明 | As I was walking by this park something caught my attention and I do not remember seeing it before at this exact location … it is a memorial to Wolfe Tone. I remember photographing it before but I am fairly sure that it was at another location within the park and at time it looked somewhat neglected.I am not sure if this park is known as ‘The Croppy Field’ or ‘The Croppies Acre’ and am further confused by the fact that there is a smaller park nearby known as the ‘Croppies Memorial Park’. Unfortunately both parks appear to be closed to the public any time that I have visited the area.The Croppies Acre commemorates the United Irish rebellion of 1798 but it is closed to the public for many years, owing to anti-social problems. The smaller park which features the Anna Livia monument is supposed to be open to the public but anytime I visit it is closed [with one exception … I was able to gain access just after Christmas]. |
