Home base for the company – and its adjunct vineyard and wine tourism businesses – is a picturesque farming property, overlooking Pitt Water, at Cambridge, in the island State’s renowned Coal River Valley wine region, just outside Hobart.Riversdale Estate’s wine business comprises 37 hectares of cool climate wine varieties producing highly-acclaimed single vineyard wines, in addition to select parcels of wine grapes that are sold under contract to some of Australia’s leading wine companies. One of Tasmania’s largest olive groves is also planted on the property.Riversdale Estate’s wine tourism businesses comprise seven attractive, self-contained French Provincial cottages; a warm and welcoming vineyard cellar door operation; a French Bistro, offering lunches and catered function services seven days a week; a French Orangery serving delicious, silver service High Teas; and – from early 2016 – a Peter Rabbit-themed children’s garden and birthday centre.
