説明 | Maedaya Sake & Grill400 Bridge Rd, Richmond9428 3918www.sakejapan.com.au/We were planning to go to Momotaro Rahmen; but then this new place caught our eyes. While looking at the menu outside, we were then greeted by the owner Toshi Maeda (Sake Master). He was very friendly and explained that he had just opened on Monday. The only thing that was served on the lunchtime menu was Okonomiyaki and it came in different flavours beef, chicken, vegetable and seafood. The interior was very simple and chic and still had a distinct japanese feel to the place. And upstair they have japanese bbq. Looking through the menu properly we discovered that it's more a yakitori place rather than izakaya what we originally thought. The okonomiyaki very much reminded us of Japan. It was quite filling even though it was massive but enough to fill the hunger. The chicken was tender and cooked just right as was the beef. This was more the Osaka style of okonomiyaki. The okonomiyaki sauce was a little overpowering is a bit on the sweet side. Overall we were satisfied with our lunch. Lil's suggestion was she would have like a noodle base okonomiyaki just like the one's you get in Hiroshima. Toshi convinced us to try the dessert and we decided on the Soy Milk Panna Cotta. For the price is was great value. This was topped with blueberries and topping. We could taste the Soy milk in the panna cotta, but we felt like if we were having chinese tofu dessert. It was very silky smooth, maybe because of the gelatine or the soy bean wasn't refined enough. In the meantime, they are still waiting on approval on their liquor licence (1/5/08).Once they get their licence we will definitely go back and try there dinner menu. |
