It transported me back to the time of Medici Florence, Rome, the corruption of Chuch, and most of all, Michelangelo's passion as an artist. His obsession, his frustrations. You can find out who he was, how he created art compared to his contemporaries--Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael...David, Pieta, Sistine Chapel, Julius II's tomb, Medici Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, how I wish to see them all after reading the novel. I recommend it. |
