| 説明 | A Poole group shot of a Judge and the other players in a court including a fine looking young Garda outside a courthouse somewhere.With thanks to today's contributors, in particular Niall McAuley, beachcomberaustralia, O Mac, and John Spooner, we have corroboration of date, location and subject. In short, the image was very likely taken at Waterford Courthouse, in 1944, possibly around the retirement of Judge James Sealy (1876-1949). Judge Sealy had a long legal career (and some amateur sporting experience), with his time on the bench marked by some periods of levity (and otherwise) - as per the various snippets and newspaper accounts offered in the comments below....Photographer: A.
