| 説明 | Sept. 7NYC and Knoxville friends and colleagues:A new work by SURVIVAL DESIGN (Jason S. Brown + Elizabeth Scofield) entitled GREEN ROOF, will befeatured in a mobile art show that will be traveling around NYC for the next 10 days. Installed on theroof of a large truck (see attached JPG), GREEN ROOF is part of a collective public art happening calledcell2Cell2CELL presented by the RIDER project.Between Sept. 7 - 16, we will be parking the truck at the times listed in the PDF and exhibiting inWilliamsburg, Chelsea, Harlem, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Olympus Fashion Show, Glowlab’s CONFLUX andoutside of the Whitney Museum of American Art.OPENING tonight Thursday September 7, Galapagos art space, 70 North 6th Street, Williamsburg 6-10pm. If you are in NYC and want to find me and the truck, please call my cell phone 865-300-3175.Thanks for your support of our work!Jason and ElizabethGREEN ROOF consists of 70 blades of lime green grass with purple tips, appearing to grow out of theroof of the truck. Although the materials are artificial and synthetic, the forms are modeled on thestructure of long blades of grass. We intend to create an intriguing and absurd situation, that mightgenerate public conversation about the ecological possibilities of green roof design in urban areas.Survival Design is a collective group of artists who work in urban and rural spaces to temporarily alterthe landscape in order to question human relationships with the natural world. Designed to inviteaudience participation, our projects challenge viewers to engage in a civic dialogue about individual,community, and place. |
