| 説明 | Co. A, 121st OH. InfantryHe was born in Columbiana County, Ohio, January 12, 1831. Here he learned the trade of carpenter and builder, serving as an apprentice some three years, after which he followed it in Columbiana and Union counties as a journeyman. On August 12, 1862, he enlisted in Company A, One Hundred and Twenty-first Ohio Infantry; in June, 1863, he was promoted to Sergeant and wounded at the battle of Chickamauga in the following September, by a musket shot in the right thigh, and taken prisoner by the Confederates; but he was paroled eleven days later, and exchanged in May following; he served until his discharge June 19, 1865, after which he returned to Ohio and followed his trade. In the fall of 1868, he came to Olathe, and was engaged in business as a carpenter and builder until March, 1881, when he joined J. A. Hammond in the furniture business. |
