| 説明 | This building, designed by Stephen Button and built ca. 1856, has recently been devoted to restaurants: Michael's, Paradigm, Barra, and Rocchino's. It served commercial purposes around the time the vault lights were installed: James W. Cooke, cotton and wool (1898; Cooke had Daylight Prism canopies installed over his rear windows); James L. Wilson, cotton goods (1908, 1912); J. H. Thomas, cotton (1912).This installation is marked as a manufacture of Jacob Mark, 5 Worth Street, New York. The number looks more like 6, but 5 is a variant of the usual address for the firm, 7 Worth Street. See the small installation from 223 or 225 Chestnut, also by the firm, and the circular center of the installation at 313 South Twenty-second.. |
