| 説明 | Next to the Temple of the Sun is a 2 story building known as “Nusta's Enclosure” ( nusta means princess) and as the Priest’s by some others. Because of the location in the complex it must have had a close relationship with the temple. Probably the dwelling for the Willaq Uma (High Priest).Temple of the Sun, in Inca times only the priests and royalty could use the temples. Common people had their ceremonies in open areas or plazas. The entrance to the temple is through a magnificent double jam doorway, there is a large stone ring over the lintel where a wooden door hung, and the two stakes inside small carved boxes in the interior jambs where the door’s crossing bar was tied. The temple was built over a huge boulder. The semicircular wall has two windows; one faces east and the other north used as a solar observatory. In the center of the temple there is an in-situ carved rock altar that served to carry out diverse ceremonies honouring the Sun; it is over here where animal sacrifices were executed, so that analyzing their hearts, lungs and viscera, the priests could foretell the future. |
