| 説明 | RALEIGH, N.C. – The Wakefield’s Senior Men’s Golf Association (WSMGA) hosted the third annual “WE CARE,” Golf Classic on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The tournament benefits North Carolina current and former military and their families. The proceeds raised at the event were donated to the Soldiers and Airmen Assistance Fund of N.C., the USO of N.C. (RDU), and the WSMGA Scholarship fund.The ceremonial opening began with leaders from the North Carolina National Guard, the USO of N.C., and WSMGA thanking the golfers, sponsors and fans for their support. The North Carolina National Guard is truly thankful for our partnership with the Wakefield Senior Men’s Golf Association and all the volunteers that made this event possible. This is a great organization focused on helping veterans and their families by offering assistance for our nation’s service members in educational opportunities, health and wellness, and financial assistance. With the support of the Wakefield Senior Men’s Golf Association, our Family Programs section and survivors organization was able to host a Gold Star Family event for families of NCNG’s fallen heroes that was a complete success. The ceremony concluded, with over 200 participants making their way to the 18-hole, 71-par championship course with 50 Soldiers & Airmen who played with the corporate and local sponsor teams. |
