ShookRemark: Judge Harry Olson (b. 1867 - d. 1935) owned the east half of the southeast quarter of Section 28 in Pleasant Township, consisting of 80 acres located approximately three miles southeast of Kouts. Judge Olson was a resident of Chicago, and it is believed that his land ownership in Pleasant Township consisted of what would be referred to today as a "hobby farm."Judge Olson was the Chief Justice of the Chicago Municipal Court from 1906 to 1930. He was also an active member in the American Eugenics Society, serving as on its board of directors. An extensive biography of Judge Olson is available from Northwestern University.Copyright 2015.
