| 説明 | A family of Cooper's Hawks paid us a visit over the weekend. They hung out in the open space next to our backyard in the southwest suburbs of Denver, Colorado. My son Andrew noticed them Saturday morning while he was practicing soccer in the backyard. They make a screeching sound, mostly it seems so they know each other's location. The local squirrels didn't know what to make of them. One of them sat about six feet away on the same branch, as if to say "Excuse me sir, it it's not too much trouble, do you mind if I get by?". The hawk did mind, and wasn't shy about putting the squirrel in his place. On Sunday afternoon one of them swooped down, caught a vole, and took it back up to the tree for dinner. |
