説明Illustration for a comparative ecophylogenetic analysis of local myrmecofaunas, based on r/K selection theory and intra / interspecific parabiosis / lestobiosis, particularly focused on allochthonous and invasive species.[Sepedophilus Gistel 1856: 342 (IT: 15) spp; Tachiporini: 9 gg; Tachiporinæ: 5 tbb, 26 gg; Staphylinidæ: 33 sff]Parabiotic of Lasius lasioides.63,650 Staphylinidæ spp classification is ongoing, with some proposing as many as 10 separate ff, but the current favored system is one of 32 sff, ∼167 tbb (some grouped into Stbb) & ∼3,200 gg; ∼400 new spp are being described each year, and some ℮℮ suggest 75% of tropical spp are as yet undescribed.There is much need of a comparative study on the evolution of elytræ in Coleoptera, including fossil taxa. Many taxa within Coleoptera, scattered in multiple ff, have atrophic elytræ whose TL is a fraction of the abdomen TL. For example, brachypterism is not homogeneous in Meloidae, as brachyelitrism is not homogeneous in Staphylinidae. Another crucial element is the wing/elytræ dimensional ratio. Plausibly, elytræ held open during flight always constitute a drag and therefore they are never aerodynamically advantageous. In most Coleoptera spp in which ♀♀ tend to have larger abdomens than those of ♂♂, elytræ often leave a part of the abdomen uncovered, which rarely or never happens in ♂♂. In brachyelytrous spp this difference is much smaller. The evolutionary advantage in these spp tends to turn from greater abdomen protection to lower aerodynamic drag and greater body flexibility & maneuverability.REFERENCEST.
