| 説明 | Found in the garden (Ipswich, VC25 East Suffolk, TM166450) on 23 June 2015. ID confirmed by Peter Harvey after dissection. The photo of the epigyne was taken through a microscope; the other images as per the EXIF data. The shape of the epigyne looked more like that of P rufus as per the illustration in Roberts Field Guide, but that has been shown to be unreliable. The key distinguishing feature of females of these similar species is the shape of the spermathecal organ which is curled over in P. albidus rather than projecting laterally in P. rufus (see "A redescription of Philodromus albidus Kulczynski,1911 (Araneae, Philodromidae)" by Hendrik Segers in Bull.Br.arachnol.Soc. (1989) 8 (2), 38-40. |
