説明 | Leisure time! This image, taken on 11 August 1918, shows troops of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force (NZEF) at Pas-en-Artois, France. They are taking some much needed time out to play a game of basketball.The image was taken by New Zealand’s official First World War photographer, Henry Armytage Sanders. In 1917, at the age of 30, Sanders was recruited to be the official photographer of the NZEF, and tasked with documenting the New Zealand Division during World War One. Before this Sanders worked for the renowned Pathé Frères (now known as Pathé) in London, who were the world’s largest film equipment and production company in the early 20th century.
